2009 Maryknoll Holy Week Retreat
Men travel long distances to pray and reflect together during our highest holy season.
By Fr. Dennis Moorman, MM, Vocation Director

Discerning disciples

Gathering disciples of Jesus from north to south and from east to west, eight young men from DC, GA, IN, MI, NM, OH, PA and TX traveled to Maryknoll Headquarters in Ossining, NY to discern a vocation to Missionary Priesthood and Brotherhood.

Two men had the seeds of their vocation journey planted outside of the United States from their countries of origin in Mexico and Togo, West Africa.

The common vision for global mission and a desire to respond to God's call to go forth to all nations and proclaim the Good News are what motivated each of these men to travel such distances to pray and reflect together during the highest holy season of the Christian calendar when we celebrate the depths of the Paschal Mystery of Jesus' Passion, Death and Resurrection.
