Meet our Brand-New Maryknoll Seminarians!
Among our men in training are five newcomers, aiming to carry Maryknoll's mission into its second century.

Hello, I'm Glen D’Angelo, a 38 year old seminarian from Savannah, Georgia. Both Carol and Richard D'Angelo, my parents, are living in South Carolina. I have one sister, Barbara D’Angelo. I cannot put into words how honored and blessed I feel to be part of the Maryknoll community.
My name is Jonathan Hill. I was raised in Florida to a missionary and mobile family. My uncle was a missionary to Honduras for the Southern Baptists and my mother was an Air Force brat. I grew up desiring mission. I became a Southern Baptist missionary in 2002 working in Honduras, Italy and the Philippines. I then became Catholic through an intellectual conversion in 2004. Feeling a call to the priesthood, I examined several orders before entering the Canons-Regular of St. John Cantius in 2006. Desiring a more hands-on approach with people, I left in 2007, working as a youth counselor at a Catholic ranch in Wyoming until discerning God’s call in my life to Maryknoll. I am very grateful to be here!
My name is Peter Latouf, and I am originally from Detroit, Michigan. I worked for the State of Michigan for nine years as a Program Coordinator before moving south to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I earned a bachelor's degree in International Studies and Psychology from WayState
University in 2006, then went on to receive a Master's degree in Educational Psychology in 2008. During my college years I had the opportunity to travel all around the world, everywhere from Asia to the Pacific to Euthe Caribbean. My love of traveling stems from the amazing experiences and encounters I've had with people all around the world. I love reading about new cultures and learning and studying new languages, and I love the opportunities Maryknoll provides to reach out to and be exposed to new places and ideas. In my spare time I enjoy reading and watching television, and my 'claim to fame' is appearing as a contestant on the TV game show "Jeopardy!" in 2009.
Hello, my name is Tony Lopez. I am from El Paso, Texas. I have lived in Las Vegas where I pursued my culinary career. I worked at The Mandalay Bay. I relocated to El Paso, Texas when my older sibling got married. It was a good move, since it helped solidify my foundation for my spirituality to get closer to God. I was active in The El Paso Diocese, teaching CCD and Confirmation, and I was also an extraordinary minister of communion. I really got involved in Church, at four different local parishes: San José, Corpus Christi, St. Pius, and the Little Flower, my home parish. It was really good that I was able to clarify within myself along the way that I wanted to serve the Lord and others in the communities. I also had the opportunity to work in different ministries to see the full spectrum of our Catholic Church. It was really awesome going to the home visits just seeing the anticipation of the people to receive our Lord. Some have passed since I served, but I'm glad our Lord uses me as His instrument for others. What enticed me to Maryknoll was how they reach out to the third world countries and spread the Good News to the indigenous around the world. I had the opportunity to do mission immersion experiences in Honduras and Guatemala and I worked with Maryknoll Fathers Tom Goekler, Dave LaBuda, Bob Coyne and Dick
Frank, where I was able to experience "hands-on" the mission work done by these wonderful men. Father Dave was well liked in the Honduran community where he has spent 32 plus years serving in Central America. He helped build quite a few parishes and a pharmacy. Father Tom developed a program for ex-gang members. Father Dick and Father Bob work at parishes in Honduras and also run programs to help women get educated and learn a trade. What really lured me was hearing the stories of the older generation of Maryknollers in the missions they did in the 40s and 50s, up until present. The charisma that these awesome men and women show is their true love for the Lord, even to sacrifice their well-being to serve others. I'm really delighted to be part of "The Maryknoll Family." I can hardly wait to start my journey with my fellow Maryknollers.
My name is Chace Olinger. I'm from Huntington, Indiana and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. I am also legally blind and hope to use my unique perspective to help others in the mission field.
