2010 Maryknoll Essay Contest
THEME: iMission
ASSIGNMENT: For the past 100 years Maryknoll missioners have been following Jesus' command to "go out to the whole world and spread the Good News." Describe how you or another young person you know goes out to the world and spreads the Good News in this age of instant messaging and digital social networking.
RULES: Students in grades 6–8 (Division I) and grades 9–12 (Division II) qualify. Entries must be written in English. Only one entry per student. Please specify the division to which the entry is being submitted. Children of Maryknoll employees, Associates and Affiliates are not eligible.
LENGTH: 500–750 words. Pages should be typed and double-spaced or neatly handwritten in ink and stapled. Note: Spelling and grammar count.
DEADLINE: Entries must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. All entries become the property of Maryknoll and cannot be returned. Winning entries will be published in the May/June 2011 MARYKNOLL magazine and online at www.maryknollsociety.org/winners.
PRIZES:
1st place prizes $1,000 per division
2nd place prizes $300 per division
3rd place prizes $150 per division
